In America…
Regarding yesterday’s post, “Let each of us contemplate the grid.” What I meant, in a matter-of-fact-and-not-alarmist way:
Whether I like it or not, the power grid is not someone else’s issue. It dramatically impacts my daily life, my safety, my community, my nation. I should be paying attention.
How secure is our grid? What are the current and future risk factors?
What will I do if (when) the grid goes down? What will be impacted? What is my plan? How can I be of service to others when it happens?
What can I do right now to prepare for that? To prepare mentally and physically?
How does my daily life impact the grid? How can I reduce that burden?
Am I willing to educate my kids about this? So they can be informed, prepared and part of a future solution?
