Sense of Touch
At times when your mind is off to the races and you are feeling untethered, bringing your attention to the body can provide instant grounding, instant relief. It is a short meditation and goes something like this:
With your eyes close, come into your sense of touch.
Notice the precise places your feet are in contact with the floor.
Notice your hips against the chair.
Feel the gentle weight of your clothing against your skin.
Feel the places the fabric stretches with every inhale
and how it softens with every exhale.
Note the soft play of air around the hands and face.
Open your eyes.
Take a slow breath in
and a slow breath out.
